A catch-all e-mailbox is one that captures all the messages sent to inactive email addresses. For example, if your address is info@domain.com, but someone miswrites it and sends an email to inof@domain.com, it will still be received in the catch-all mailbox that you have configured. Only one mailbox per domain can have this feature activated and thus you’ll never miss emails because the other side has an out-of-date address or has made a mistake. The disadvantage of using a catch-all mailbox is that you may begin receiving plenty of junk messages, but this problem can be rectified by using anti-spam filtering software. It is also crucial to keep in mind that a mailbox with an active catch-all functionality cannot forward incoming messages to a third-party mailbox.

Catch-all Emails in Web Hosting

In case you’ve got a web hosting with our company and you’d like to activate the catch-all feature for a specific e-mailbox that you have in the account, it’ll take literally just a mouse click in the Email Manager section of your Hepsia Control Panel to accomplish that. A catch-all button is available next to each and every email address that you have created under any domain registered in your account. You can select one email address per domain name by clicking the respective button. This will activate the feature right away, so all email messages sent to misspelled addresses will be received there. Clicking on the button for a second time will deactivate the catch-all feature. In case you have activated email forwarding, our system will display a warning notice and you will not be able to activate the catch-all feature until you disable the forwarding or you can simply pick a different mailbox to be the catch-all one.

Catch-all Emails in Semi-dedicated Servers

The catch-all feature can be activated with ease if you’ve got a semi-dedicated server plan with us. All the email addresses that you’ve set up with the domains hosted in the account will be listed in the Hepsia Control Panel’s Email Manager section and you will see a tiny logo handily situated right next to each one of them. With only a single mouse click, you can enable or disable the catch-all option for any mailbox of your preference as long as there isn't another mailbox under that same domain name with this option already activated and there isn't activated email forwarding. Instead, you can right-click on a mailbox and enable the feature using the contextual menu that will show up. In case any of the preconditions for configuring a catch-all mailbox is not matched, our system will warn you, but will not replace or deactivate anything automatically.
